MTS is planning a new Express “Owl” Overnight Bus Route from San Ysidro to Downtown San Diego.

A new, mixed-use, affordable, transit-oriented development located at the Rancho Bernardo Transit Station. 

MTS has partnered with Pueblo Planning to conduct a social equity listening tour to identify the needs and priorities within our service area.

Rapid 227 is a new route (high-frequency, limited stop service) in South Bay.

SANDAG, in partnership with MTS, will develop a new Mobility Hub in San Ysidro to make travel in the border region easier and more sustainable.

The Bus on Shoulder Pilot Project will allow Rapid buses to operate on freeway shoulders during heavy traffic congestion.

The Metropolitan Transit System will be adding a sixth bus division.

Downtown parking facility for transit vehicles between runs.

MTS is to transition from a conventional bus system to a zero emission bus system.

This projects aims to improve the pedestrian experience by creating safe and intuitive links between the two stations.

The Copper Line services stations between El Cajon Transit Center and Santee Trolley Station. 

The Gaslamp Quarter Station Digital Information Board provides unique advertising and promotion opportunities for local businesses and conventioneers and transit information. 

ShoreLINE is 100% affordable, transit-oriented development located at the Grantville Trolley Station.

Improvements to the OTTC included reconfiguration of existing bus bays to support bigger, articulated buses, and the construction of additional bus bays to support future service enhancements.  

Rapid stations added to Broadway downtown.

Orange and Blue lines were rebuilt to allow the use of low-floor Trolleys over the entire network.

MTS implemented major service changes to its bus network between 2017 and 2019 to improve connectivity, efficiency, and travel times for riders.

MTS built a Trolley station in downtown San Diego as the new western terminus for the Orange Line. The Courthouse station enhances trolley operations for the UC San Diego Blue Line’s Trolley extension.

AMCAL Multi-Housing, Inc. developed a mixed-use building designed as a transit oriented development containing affordable housing apartment units and commercial space.

Freeway-level transit stations were built on State Route 15 (SR 15) at University Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard as well as transit-only lanes north of I-805 to just south of I-8.

Changes to the comprehensive fare ordinance covering MTS and NCTD fares were approved and implemented between 2019 and 2021.

The Trolley tracks around Grossmont Transit Center were fully replaced to maintain the safety of passengers and integrity of the Trolley system.

South Bay Rapid spans 21 miles, connecting Downtown San Diego and the South Bay region.

The Boulevard Bus Way is a three-mile dedicated lane for buses along El Cajon Blvd. between Park Blvd. and Fairmount Ave.

MTS discontinued and relocated some Route 2 and Route 6 bus stops along 30th Street in areas where bus stops were placed very closely together.
