Rapid routes and stations are designed to provide commuters with a new level of service including spacious park and ride lots at many stations, newer natural gas-powered vehicles, and bike-friendly features.
Station Amenities
Many North County transit stations are situated near park and ride lots and have lighted shelters with real-time next arrival information. Rapid 215 stations feature real time arrival signage and more spacious loading areas for passengers. New, more spacious and comfortable stops are currently under development along Broadway in Downtown San Diego.
Vehicle Amenities
Rapid Express coaches have comfortable high-backed seats, individual seat lighting, and overhead storage. All Rapid vehicles are designed for a comfortable ride and have improved lighting and more headroom than a standard bus.
Bike Friendly Features
All Rapid vehicles have the ability to bring bikes along for the ride! Rapid Express coaches have under-vehicle storage compartments for bicycles, and all other Rapid routes offer racks to accommodate two bikes on the front of the vehicle.
Bike lockers and bike storage facilities are available at most transit stations along all Rapid routes.
