December 30, 2024 - To ensure the safety of our passengers and the integrity of MTS’ complementary paratransit service, MTS has decided to discontinue our current “Do Not Leave Alone (DLA)” practice. Beginning January 1, 2025, we will no longer offer this “attendant type service” to new Access customers. For approved, eligible Access customers before January 1, 2025, we will continue to provide the DLA service for the remainder of calendar year 2025. On January 1, 2026, the DLA service will be discontinued entirely.

MTS is constantly striving to improve the effectiveness and convenience of the services it provides. This includes MTS Access paratransit services. As part of this ongoing effort, Effective October 1, 2023, MTS Access is revising our eligibility policy for riders. Any approved new eligibility certification or renewal eligibility certification that is given either Unconditional or Conditional eligibility will now be valid for a period of five (5) years, increased from the current three (3) year eligibility.
This will not be retroactively applied to currently eligible riders who will need to recertify at the conclusion of the current three (3) year eligibility cycle. At that time, they will be given five (5) year eligibility renewals. Visitor and Temporary eligibility periods will remain unchanged.
Effective June 1, 2023, MTS Access will conduct a pilot program expanding the reservation window from 2 days prior to a trip to 10 days prior to a trip. This will allow riders greater flexibility in scheduling trips and peace of mind knowing their ride is booked well in advance. Rides must still be booked no later than 5 p.m. the day before travel and no same-day reservations will be provided.
