Uptown Transit

Contactless payments allow you to grab a credit card or mobile wallet payment, tap the PRONTO validator and get on board for just $2.50 (unlimited transfers for two hours). Any Visa, Mastercard or Discover payment method will work onboard.

Running through the heart of mid-city every 12 minutes throughout most of the day, Rapid 215 offers fast, frequent service past midnight to destinations along El Cajon Blvd, Park Blvd and Broadway in downtown San Diego.

Bonus: Rapid 215 runs in a dedicated bus lane along El Cajon Blvd and Park Blvd, meaning faster service for transit riders, and less time stuck at traffic lights.

Running along 30th from Normal Heights to Broadway, Route 2 runs every 15 minutes on weekdays (every 30 minutes on weekends), and as late as 12:30 a.m. With service to some of San Diego’s most popular dining and drinking destinations, it’s known to some as “the beer bus.” And hey, if you’re going to have a night out, it’s best to have a safe, reliable ride home.

Route 6 connects riders from the heart of North Park to the Green Line Trolley at Mission Valley and Fashion Valley malls.

Whether you’re headed to brunch, coffee or getting groceries for the week, you can skip the parkin battles along University Avenue. Route 10 run every 15 minutes most of the day Monday through Friday, and every 20 – 30 minutes on the weekend.

You can also use the route to get to Old Town, or connect with the Green Line Trolley for service to Little Italy, the downtown waterfront or north to UTC on the Blue Line, too.

While running slightly less service than some of our other Uptown routes (service every 20 – 30 minutes), Route 11 provides service 7 days a week along Adams Avenue. (An’s Dry Cleaning, anyone?) It’s also a great connection to some of the other destinations listed on this map: Route 2 at 30th, Rapid 215 at El Cajon Blvd, Route 7 or 10 at University, and more.

All MTS vehicles allow for at least two vehicles on board, and with our larger buses (running on Rapid 215 and Route 7) up to three bikes.
