Green Line Trolley takes you directly to the soccer match
San Diego – San Diego FC is back on home turf, ready to continue their undefeated streak as they take on Columbus Crew, and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is here to make sure fans don't miss a minute of the action. Fans can skip the stress of traffic and high parking costs by hopping on the Trolley, which offers the most direct route to Snapdragon Stadium.
For the club’s second home match Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m., MTS will increase Trolley service to and from the Stadium Station to accommodate the large crowds.
Green Line (Pre-event):
- Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 4:50 and 7:30 p.m. eastbound from Old Town, and westbound from El Cajon and SDSU.
Green Line (Post-event):
- Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until crowds diminish.
Rider Alert – Weekend Track Closures
Soccer fans traveling to the game from Downtown are advised to catch the Green Line Trolley at Santa Fe Depot. There will be no Trolley service on the Green Line in Downtown San Diego between Santa Fe Depot and 12th & Imperial Transit Center on Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16. Riders can take the UC San Diego Blue Line towards UTC from 12th & Imperial and transfer to the Green Line at Santa Fe Depot. For more information, visit the MTS website.
Soccer fans can ride MTS to Snapdragon Stadium at a discounted price. MTS partnered with San Diego FC to offer a discounted SDFC All-Season Pass. Fans can ride the Trolley to all 17 home matches for only $56. This pass offers a 33% discount off the regular cost to ride to and from Snapdragon Stadium on matchdays. The pass is available at Trolley station ticket-vending machines and the PRONTO app. Details can be found at sdmts.com/sdfc-all-season-pass.
Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare
Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket vending machine and speed up wait times.
Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult. Youth ages 18 and under with a registered Youth PRONTO card or app account can ride free with the Youth Opportunity Pass.
PRONTO: Fans should download the PRONTO app in advance. Load at least $5 on your virtual card, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on validators to activate their pass or fare prior to boarding.
Every person needs their own payment option, you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.
