Green Line Trolley takes you directly to soccer matches at Snapdragon Stadium
San Diego – Tens of thousands of soccer fans will enjoy a jam-packed weekend of matches at Snapdragon Stadium, and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will ramp up Trolley service for the excitement on and off the pitch.
This Saturday at 7 p.m., San Diego Wave FC fans will make waves for the club’s home opener match against the Utah Royals FC. The excitement continues Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with an epic Liga MX clash as “El Rebaño Sagrado,” Chivas de Guadalajara, takes on “La Jauría,” Xolos de Tijuana.
For both matches, MTS will increase Trolley service to and from Snapdragon Stadium to accommodate the large crowds. Fans can skip the stress of traffic and high parking costs by hopping on the Green Line Trolley, which offers the most direct route to Snapdragon Stadium.
Saturday (3/22) – Green Line:
- Pre-event Service – Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 5:45 and 7 p.m. from Downtown San Diego to Stadium Station.
- Post-event Service – Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until crowds diminish.
Sunday (3/23) – Green Line:
- Pre-event Service – Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added between 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. from Downtown San Diego to Stadium Station.
- Post-event Service – Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until crowds diminish.
SD Wave FC All-Season Pass
Soccer fans can ride MTS to Snapdragon Stadium at a discounted price. MTS partnered with San Diego Wave FC to offer a discounted SD Wave FC All-Season Pass. Fans can ride the Trolley to all 13 home matches for only $43. This pass offers a 33% discount off the regular cost to ride to and from Snapdragon Stadium on matchdays. Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare
Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket vending machine and speed up wait times.
Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult. Youth ages 18 and under with a registered Youth PRONTO card or app account can ride free with the Youth Opportunity Pass.
PRONTO: Fans should download the PRONTO app in advance. Load at least $5 on your virtual card, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on validators to activate their pass or fare prior to boarding.
Every person needs their own payment option, you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.

Fans can park at one of MTS’ free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:
- Old Town Transit Center (Blue and Green Line, 400+ free parking spots)
- Grossmont Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 220 free parking spots)
- El Cajon Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 400+ free parking spots)
- Amaya Drive (Green and Orange Line, 236 free parking spots)
