Green Line Trolley takes you directly to the doorstep of Snapdragon Stadium

San Diego – Major League Soccer arrives to town when San Diego FC kicks off a brand-new era of soccer at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday, and the Metropolitan Transit System is encouraging fans to take the Trolley to avoid traffic and parking hassles.

For the club’s historic first-ever home match against St. Louis City SC on Saturday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m., the MTS will provide increased Trolley service to and from the Stadium Station to accommodate the large crowds. Fans can take the Green Line Trolley to Stadium Station which is just steps away from all the action.

Green Line (Pre-event):

  • Trolleys depart stations every 15 minutes or better, with additional trips added from Downtown San Diego between 6:15 and 7:30 p.m.

Green Line (Post-event):

  • Trolleys depart Stadium Station every 15 minutes or better in both directions, with additional trips added as needed until crowds diminish.

SDFC All-Season Pass

Soccer fans can ride MTS to Snapdragon Stadium at a discounted price. MTS partnered with San Diego FC to introduce the discounted SDFC All-Season Pass. Fans can the Trolley to all 17 home matches for only $56. This pass offers a 33% discount off the regular cost to ride to and from Snapdragon Stadium on matchdays. MTS Pop-Up Event Giveaway

MTS and San Diego FC invite fans to visit pop-ups at the Old Town Transit Center and Grossmont Transit Center for giveaways and raffle prizes before riding to Snapdragon Stadium from 5 to 7 p.m.

Easy Ways to Pay Your Fare

Contactless Payment: Fans now have the option to simply tap a credit card or other contactless payment options, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, on a station validator to pay for a one-way ride ($2.50, valid for two hours). This allows fans to bypass the ticket vending machine and can speed up wait times.

Kids ride free! Families going to the soccer match can save money by taking MTS. During weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult. Youth ages 18 and under with a registered Youth PRONTO card or app account can ride free with the Youth Opportunity Pass.

PRONTO: Fans should download the PRONTO app in advance. Load at least $5 on your virtual card, which covers a round-trip fare for adult riders. All riders must tap or scan on validators to activate their pass or fare prior to boarding.

Every person needs their own payment option, you cannot buy fares for multiple people on the same account, card or payment method.

Parking Options

Fans can park at one of MTS’ free Park & Ride lots throughout the Trolley system. The most convenient locations are:

  • Old Town Transit Center (Blue and Green Line, 400+ free parking spots)
  • Grossmont Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 220 free parking spots)
  • El Cajon Transit Center (Green and Orange Line, 400+ free parking spots)
  • Amaya Drive (Green and Orange Line, 236 free parking spots)
