The San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art will host its annual Keepers of the Culture event, in collaboration with the San Diego History Center.
Join us in as we honor true cultural icons:
- Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D: First Black person and San Diegan to serve as California Secretary of State.
- The Cooper Family Foundation: Community activists for the Juneteenth holiday
- Ron Dhanifu: Renowned jazz radio programmer.
- Martha R. Logan: Leader of the historically Black Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority.
The doors will open at 5 pm for a reception featuring The Kamau Kenyatta Trio. The program will begin at 6 pm.
This event is free but space is limited and reservations are required. RSVP for the annual Keepers of the Culture event.
The Rapid 215 or Route 7 will drop you off right at the entrance of Balboa Park for easy access.
